Gibran Naushad is an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court of India with specialized focus on tax law, litigation, arbitration, transactional structuring and advisory work, including cross border mandates. As an ‘Advocate-on-Record’ in the Supreme Court, Gibran is part of a select group of advocates who can file and initiate proceedings before the Supreme Court of India. Gibran is also presently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Tax Committee of Inter-Pacific Bar Association headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Gibran practices in all judicial forums in Delhi, particularly Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Additionally, Gibran has also handled matters and appeared before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Allahabad High Court, Bombay High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court (Jabalpur, Indore, and Gwalior), Calcutta High Court and High Court for the State of Telangana.

In view of his expertise and experience, Gibran presently holds the following key government engagements in addition to his private engagements:

• Gibran has been appointed by the President of India to serve as a Senior Standing Counsel for the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in the Delhi High Court.
• Gibran has been appointed as a Standing Counsel by the Central Board of Direct Taxes in the Delhi High Court.
